Hey, I’m Mike — a candid lifestyle and hospitality photographer based in Melbourne, originally from a small countryside town in Wales with no more than 10,000 people. Photography has always been something I’ve loved — even before I had a camera in my hands, I was drawn to the feeling of moments that told a story without needing words.
Before diving into photography professionally, I spent 18 years working in hospitality — managing venues, running events, and leading teams across different settings. That background gave me a deep understanding of how spaces, service, and atmosphere come together to create experiences. It also gave me a trained eye for the small details and fleeting moments that matter most — things I now aim to capture through my lens.
I moved to Australia 3.5 years ago, and since then, Melbourne has become my home. I’m currently on the path to permanent residency, building a life and career that combines my love for people, food, travel, and storytelling. Photography has become more than a creative outlet for me — it’s a way of connecting with people, supporting local businesses, and shining a light on the beauty in the everyday.
Whether I’m shooting a buzzing café, a quiet corner of someone’s home, or a one-off event, I aim to keep things relaxed and real. No stiff posing, no overly edited images — just honest moments captured with care.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me exploring new places, chasing the next good meal, or planning the next trip (camera in hand, of course).
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my work — if my style speaks to you, I’d love to hear from you.
